"For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother's womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well." (Psalm 139:13-14)
This was the verse that popped into my wife's head this morning. Having just read the whole psalm, I can say that I really like this one. The author puts into words the grandeur and awesomeness of the Lord, and when you sit, pause, and think about the descriptions, it blows your mind. We often (like every single hour for me) get caught up in the busyness of work/life, our own selfishness, or the worries of the world and lose sight of God (that Satan is indeed very clever and tricky). We forget how good God is. We forget how much more He knows and understands. We forget how rich His love is.
The reality of losing this child has hit us. The possibility of having to raise a child with physical or mental defects has gone through our minds. The hope of a premature birth and healthy growth is there. The miracle of a full-term pregnancy... all are possibilities (--and there are probably others as well). We don't know what will come about or what God's will is. Only time will tell. We do know (with all outcomes) that God is good. "Wonderful are Your works." He knows more than we do. His mercy, grace, and love are enduring and everlasting.
Our hope and prayer is for the baby to stay in the womb that God would continue to form him. More importantly that God would be glorified. Also, pray that we would seek and trust in Him when doubts/anxieties come about. Lastly, please pray that her contractions would lessen without a lot of drugs.
Last night and this morning were good aside from waking up and feeling like a train had hit her. That was a side effect of a stronger dose of sleeping pill they gave her. This afternoon, however, she was having more frequent contractions. They gave her a couple of shots and that helped. She is also already losing a lot of muscle. Physical therapy should be coming in on Monday to help her.

ReplyDeleteLouis and Katrina,
ReplyDeleteI am continuing to pray for you and your sweet baby. I am pouring my heart to our LORD and am praying for specifically for what Louis posted:
1. For your baby to stay in the womb and that God would continue to form him. 2. That God would be glorified 3. For you to seek and trust in Him 4. For Katrina's contractions to lessen without a lot of drugs and lastly that you will know HIS comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding. I LOVE YOU!
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Psalm 62: 5-6
ReplyDeletePraying continually.
Interesting verse Katrina...it just happens to be the one the DJ on KSBJ has claimed for the last 3 days!!! She was speaking about it in great detail just today, and it came to mind that "incidences of coincidences increase with prayer." Rest sweet friends.
