How you are already 3/4 of the way to being one is beyond me! We are so happy that summer is finally here and we get to stay home and play with you. We comment a lot that it seems like you keep getting heavier and heavier. When I weighed you yesterday you were almost 19 pounds! You are wearing mainly 6-12 month clothes, but the 12-18 month ones really aren't that big on you so if it is cute, I put you in it! You are still in size 3 diapers, but it won't be long until we have to move you up to size 4 during the night.
You are officially crawling, no more lunging and scooting for you. Not only that but you have mastered pulling yourself up on just about anything and everything. We have to watch you like hawks and yet you still tumble every once and a while. So far you seem to have only hurt your mouth when you have fallen, I guess because you always have something in your mouth. We keep thinking that any day you will have a tooth pop out, but we have yet to see any.
We let you get into some bad habits with sleeping since you kept getting sick and we keep thinking you have a tooth coming in that hurts. After continuing to get up multiple times a night we decided it was time to let you fuss it out again, you had been doing so well. We were sure glad we did because it didn't take more than a night or two for you to get back on schedule. The other night you slept 10 hours without a peep! However, napping is a different story. We have been trying to get you on a schedule where you take one longer morning nap and then a longer afternoon nap. You did a pretty good job for a while with Staci, but you are back to your 30 minute naps or an hour if we are lucky. I guess that is okay as long as you keep sleeping at night!
You love to eat and are more and more interested in foods you can pick up like your puffs and mum-mums. You still haven't quite mastered putting the puff in your mouth AND taking your fingers out, but you will get there. We have introduced a few new foods like pumpkin, blueberries, beets, prunes, and yogurt. You seem to like them all as long as there is enough fruit to make things sweet. We are always impressed at how much food you can put down. We have even been able to drop your last bottle of the night without you waking up hungry too early.
This month we did your baby dedication at church and you did great. We realized that you are pretty serious when it comes to new situations. We are going to try and get you out a little more since we have the whole summer to play. One of your favorite things right now is taking a bath. Now that we have given you full reign of the tub you LOVE it. When you see the bath you pull yourself up and try to climb in. You love to splash and play with your toys, but even more you love to stand in the tub (not mommy's favorite activity... it makes me panic!). You still love to make noise with all your toys, but are even happier when you can pull yourself up on something and play. You have even moved yourself along the edge of the couch a few times. We all think you will be an early walker!
It is so fun to watch you grow, but we really wouldn't mind if you slowed down just a little bit! We love you sweet boy!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
