I'm not quite sure how it happens, but as we get closer to you being 1 year old it seems like each month goes by faster! Both your dad and I (and several others) think that you have grown a ton this month. You seem taller and heavier... you have your 9 month appointment next week so we will see just how much you have grown soon. You are still in size 3 diapers, but wearing size 4 diapers at night. We can't squeeze you into any 6 month clothes any more and some 9 months things are getting too small depending on the brand.
You are a mover! You crawl just about anywhere and everywhere now unless we put you in the grass... you still aren't overly sure if you like it or not. You can pull yourself up on just about everything and have even managed to climb up on a few things including a whole set of stairs. You love to play especially with balls and cars. You used to just put the cars in your mouth, but you are getting really good at driving them around on the floor. You still love the TV, especially Bubble Guppies. You get so excited every time you hear the theme song. Even though we have been convinced you are teething we have yet to see a single tooth pop out... maybe next month!
You have been "talking" more this month. I was happy because most of your babblings included "mamama" which led me to think your first words would be mama, but you have recently switched to almost exclusively saying "dadadada". There was one morning you looked right at me and said "mama" but since you haven't done it again I'm not convinced you knew what you were saying. You are still doing a good job eating and love to eat puffs. We like it too because it allows us to put you in your high chair and keep yourself entertained while we try to eat. Now that you have gotten the hang of puffs I think that we will try some "real" food with you soon!
This month was a busy one with a week vacation at the beach, a road trip to Iowa, and two weddings. You did great considering that sleeping was something you thought that you could do without. We knew that you wouldn't sleep as well not being in your own bed for 3 weeks, but what we didn't know was that the only way you would sleep was in our bed (not mommy and daddy's most restful vacation!). We thought that you would like the beach since you love the water so much and we were right. You loved to splash in the water and would crawl right into the waves. You were also very intrigued by all the sand and tried many times to get a taste. We decided to drive through the night to Iowa so you would sleep and you did great. Between sleeping and a little Bubble Guppies you never really cried on the way there or the way back which was very impressive to us all! Between our week in Galveston and our trip to Iowa you met uncle Micah, Clara, Jeff & Jodi, Vicki, The Millers, Leah & Scott, and Anna and Andy. Everyone loved you and you loved to be around so many people giving you attention.
We love you sweet boy!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
And of course we have to include some of the out-takes:
Our new attempt at getting these pictures to work...
Titus was not happy towards the end of our picture taking
I hadn't caught up on your blog in awhile - such great pictures from all of your trips! And mister Titus just gets cuter by the month! I can't wait to see him in person some day. And I like your idea for a "debt-payoff celebration" ;-)
